Diamond Tools have come a long way to replace conventional carborandum abrasives. This technology incorporates various grits embedded in a matrix of resin and are bonded together sometimes with the presence of metallic inclusions. They are much harder and thereby providing a quicker, more even and makes best contact when grinding various stone types. Excellent for use on marble, limestone, travertine, sandstone, granite, engineered surfaces etc.. Natural and engineered stone surfaces can be ground and smoothen with these tools to give a beautiful honed or polished outlook. However mechanical honing and polishing requires great dept of experience as diamond tools in general are aggresive and can cause more harm than good. These tools are designed for professional use only. We have 3 different types to choose from.
Choose from the 2 available polishing powders when you wish to have your marble, limestone amd travertine surfaces polished. Our polishing powders are oxalate based an it reacts with the surface to create a long lasting hardened polished finish when work is done over calcium based substrates. Generally all marble, limestone and travertine slabs and tiles are rich in calcium carbonate. We would suggest to go with Lithofin MPP when polishing highly calcified stone types and the Diaglo M would be generally the first choice as it more user friendly and more forgiving. Either product is excellent and requires a high level of skill and experience to get desired results. Often these polishing powders are used along side our white polyester polishing pad. Consult with our stone care consultants to select which of the two would be better for your polishing projects. Note: In general, surfaces should be ground smooth to a minimum of 1000 grit before polishing. However this guide will vary from one stone type to another. An experienced stonemason will be able to know at which grits to grind and then to polish accordingly.

The main cause for natural and engineered stone surfaces getting stained is when their surfaces don't get sealed. A properly sealed surface is left impervious and stops any stainable materials either oil or water based from penetrating through causing the stain. These 3 products here has been developed to remove stains sucessfully from unsealed surfaces. Lithofin Rust-EX is the only known effective non-acidic rust remover. It works by converting rust particle into its un-oxidised state. Normally leaves a purplish residue but it will fade in a few weeks. Can be safely used on acid sensive surfaces i.e marble, limestone and travertine. Lithofin BERO on the other hand is acidic and can only be used on hard granites to remove rust imperfections. Lithofin OIL-EX works exceptionally well on penetrated oil stains especially on kitchen bench tops and stone floor tiles surrounding kitchens, pantries and outdoor BBQ areas. Lithofin OIL-EX is a gel that sometimes need long contact periods with the oil stain to be effective. Talk to one of our product consultants on how to apply these products against your existing issues maximing the results. Generally stain removal is subjective and often not successful unfortunately.
Acidic cleaners are purposeful and must not be applied to natural stone surfaces without due diligence. Acid on most occasions will cause damage on marble, limestone and travertine surfaces as they are calcium containing. Discolouration over granite, bassalt and quartz is common with stronger acids. Therefore it is always advised not to use an acidic cleaner unless it is absolutely required. Knowledge of the stone type as well as it's finish is of utmost importance. Our knowledgebale sales team here at Stone Doctor Australia is always happy to advise you on the correct product and procedure required to successfully clean your stone and tile surfaces. The 3 products here have different uses. Lithofin MN Builders-Clean is strictly used to remove excess grout and cement haze over sawn finished external granite and bassalt pavers. Lithofin KF Active-Clean is to maintain the cleanliness of ceramic walls tiles and Lithofin KF Cement Residue Remover is designed for initial cleaning of newly installed vitrified porcelain wall and floor tiles.

This highly active product will see your tired and dirty stone surfaces come back to life in just one clean-up.
